Bio

Yara El Murr is a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker. She has written primarily about climate, migration, labor and grassroots initiatives. In her film work, she has been digging into Lebanon’s reckoning with the civil war’s legacy.

El Murr has experience working on feature documentaries as an assistant editor (We Never Left, dir. Loulwa Khoury – in production) and assistant producer (The Soil and the Sea, 2023 dir. Daniele Rugo).

Her first short film Reverberations (2021) was selected for The Beirut International Women Film Festival and the Lebanese International Film Festival.
