Asis Sethi is a Canadian director, producer, scriptwriter and TV personality who is known for her docu-series “Darshan Dekh Jeeva” and her documentary “A Colourful Crown” which premiered on Canadian National Television and ran for 5 years. Her recent short films include ‘A Bloody Mess’ and ‘Still’.
Intro
Asis Sethi’s short film ‘A Bloody Mess’ is about a teenaged girl, Varsha, who struggles to normalize conversations about menstruation within her conservative South Asian family as she battles against her mother’s firm traditional beliefs. The film has won ‘Best Film – Drama’ at the Canadian Cinematography Awards; ‘Honorable Mention: Best Original Story’ at the Florence Film Awards; ‘Honourable Mention: Best Short – Social Awareness’ at the Queen Palm International Film Festival. The film has recently started its journey in the film festival circuit.
