Bio

Known for his vibrant, often soulful, and diverse music compositions, Dominique Luis is a composer who is rapidly becoming a standout voice amongst a new generation of film composers. A native of Harlem, New York, Dominique spent his childhood with a father who worked in the music industry as an A&R Executive, Radio DJ and producer, and a mother who exposed him to a wide variety of music. Inspired by Hip Hop and R&B, his ear for music varied. He was mesmerized by African and orchestral sounds.

Having taught himself how to play the piano at a young age, Dominique began his musical career composing and producing music for student films, dance recitals, and various artists, while in high school. He then relocated to Washington, DC on a Lacrosse scholarship, enrolled in the business program at the University of DC, and soon found work as a composer, writing film music for students in the Film and TV department.

  After graduating college and earning credits in student films, Dominique moved into the independent film world. The young self-taught composer and producer has composed music for over 20+ projects across music, film, theater, web and television series, including the Amazon Prime series #LoveMyRoomie and the TV One movie First Comes Love, Then Comes Murder set to be released in June of 2023.

Hi, My name is Dominique Perera. I am a film composer with more than a decade of filming scoring experience. Since I started composing film music in 2018, I have written music for films across a variety of genres. I am eager to expand my network, get to know, and work with my more beautifully talented artists.
