Bio
Hello!!
My name is Gautham Sundareswaran. I am an entertainment junkie with a passion for television and film. In fact, when I was in undergrad, I based my entire class schedule around the TV Guide!!
Since graduating from the University of Guelph-Humber’s Media Studies program, I have worked on a number of productions including Big Brother Canada, Canada’s Got Talent, LOL: Canada (Amazon) and 13: The Musical (Netflix). I have experience working as a Story Producer, Associate Producer, Cast Producer and creative writer.
I want to grow professionally and am eager to explore new opportunities (i.e. director / showrunner’s assistant, story editor, script coordinator, etc.). If there is ever an opportunity to learn, I want to do it!
Intro
I am passionate about making compelling content; content that tells stories about people who are often underrepresented in mainstream media. I would love to work with like-minded people who share a similar commitment and passion to creating content that engages, inspires and informs audiences – specifically audiences of colour. I have written my own original television scripts and my dream would be to one day take those scripts and put them into production, but until then I am willing to get to work in the industry and learn from others!
As a visible minority working in television, I know first hand the struggles of being seen, heard and represented. Part of what drew me to Film in Colour is that it is a network for the very people who are often overlooked in the industry. There is strength in numbers and if we come together we can achieve just about anything!
I am a hard-worker and a go-getter. I’m the person who will stay late at the office to finish a task or help someone else with theirs. As a member of this group, I hope to put myself out there and grow, both personally and professionally. I want to observe. Take notes. Ask questions. Be better.
I’ve always had a passion to pursue entertainment and I know with the help of a group like this one, I can make this happen. Collaboration with fellow BIPOCs can be mutually beneficial. I am eager to connect with fellow BIPOCs in the industry and hope we can come together to create amazing content!
