Bio
Ian Steaman is a recovering music industry executive turned award-winning screenwriter. A 2019 graduate of the CFC Bell Media Prime Time TV program, he has gone on to develop an original half-hour workplace comedy with CBC and completed stints as a Story Editor for the interconnected family comedies, The Parker Andersons and Amelia Parker, Junior Story Editor for CBC’s Pretty Hard Cases and as Executive Story Editor on the NBC Peacock family comedy, Take Note. He is also a 2022 WGC Awards nominee and winner of the Telefilm New Voices Award at the Toronto Screenwriting Conference.
Intro
Ian is a TV writer and 2019 grad from the Canadian Film Centre’s Bell Prime Time TV Program where he began development on his one hour drama, TRAP CITY. He is interested in writing grounded stories centred around characters of color but is up for the challenge of writing any stories that will allow him to learn and explore more about our world or himself as a writer and a human being.
