Bio
I was born and raised in Brazil and immigrated to Canada in 2012. The persecution of the LGBTQ+ community and a personal experience with violence showed me staying in Brazil was unsustainable, and the journey to officially becoming Canadian took me 8 years.
In Brazil I graduated in Social Communication and decided to specialize in Public Relations. My work in multinational businesses and a grassroots arts organization while promoting the documentary “Doctors of Joy” helped me develop the skills that would be essential in my decision to immigrate.
In Canada I was lucky to be able to learn more about the history of Canadian media with “Canada on Screen”, and be a crew member of amazing work from Canadian filmmakers. I worked as a Production Assistant, Set Dresser, 1st AD and also crafty, but even more important was my directing debut with the music video for “Don’t Call My Name” by Mountain of Wolves.
In 2018, I worked as a Development Coordinator for Sphere Media and participated in the development of season 1 of the new hit show “Transplant”. In 2019, I was honoured to be selected for the Writers for Writers Diversity Initiative during the 2019 Toronto Screenwriters Conference.
I am also RED Digital Cinema certified since 2016 when I truly started dedicating to my filmmaking career.
Intro
I have joined Film in Colour to help the industry develop content that reflects diversity in thought, lifestyle and beliefs, and ultimately bring meaningful stories and characters to the screen.
I am currently looking for opportunities in the TV Writing Room to further my abilities in storytelling and deepen my knowledge on how to craft characters whose stories unfold in a way that reflects true hopes, dreams, fears and joy.
I aspire to become a versatile storyteller so I welcome all genres and formats but I have a special place for horror, episodic dramas, thrillers and sci-fi.
I have recently finished my Supernatural Horror feature script “Curupira” and am developing a serialized sci-fi (Spectrum) and Con-Artist Comedy (Fake it ’til you break it).
