Hardworking, Guyanese, emerging award-winning writer/director.

Samantha’s filmmaking career began well over a decade ago when she became a commercial director. She produced, wrote, and directed countless promos, commercials, and trailers for companies including Bell Media, CBC, and Cineplex Entertainment.

Her first feature writing credit came when she entered and won a story writing competition for the animated feature film franchise The Nut Job, that stars Maya Rudolph and Will Arnett.

Her directorial debut Prom Night, which premiered at Just for Laughs, gained cross-border success in Kevin Hart’s LOL Network development deal contest. MacAdam was the only Canadian and female director featured in the competition and her film beat out over 850 other films, landing her a spot in the Top 5 and a place on Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network.

Prom Night, the feature script is a quarter-finalist still in the running in ScreenCraft’s Comedy Screenplay competition, with judges from Happy Madison Productions, Point Grey Pictures, and the creators of Arrested Development.

Samantha is a recipient of the 2020 Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative and 2020 The Writers Room at Prime Time – CMPA. Projects in development include an original Action-Comedy Blockbuster Feature Film and 8×60 Dramatic Thriller based on the killings of H. H. Holmes.
